I was just beginning to explore pen and ink through this piece in my mid high-school years. I enjoyed creating inky blacks and splattering stars in the background with white gouache. The detailed work gave me a therapeutic respite from the daily stress of school. This piece holds a special place in my heart as one that I worked especially hard on and was proud of.
